ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The murder-suicide of an Antiguan couple in St Thomas, on Monday, has left several relatives of the dead duo grieving and asking why.
Dead are 67-year-old George and Gadene Erskine.
Erskine, who is originally from Johnsons Point, left Antigua on Sunday after spending a week with his family. On arriving in St Thomas he met his untimely death.
His wife is originally from Urlings Village.
According to reports, the dead man was reportedly involved in an altercation with his wife, of about six years, who stabbed him to death and then ingested a substance, which took her life.
According St Thomas police, George’s body was found outside his private home while his wife’s was discovered inside the home that the couple shared.
George Erskine was a father of three and also a grandfather. His wife also had three children.
