St. John’s Antigua- Come Mother’s Day, eight proud mothers will be competing for the crown in the first ever Moms Got Talent Show. Vying for top honours will be Christal Coates, June Watkins, Kamesha Joseph, Patrice Martin, Salome Christian, Sandy-Anne Bethune, Theresa Bright and Trecy Spencer.
Brainchild of the event, Desiree George said the show is “different from all other queen shows” and the talent will be impressive.
“The talents that are going to be coming up are off the hook. I have seen the contestants practicing and they are good. This is one of the hardest things I have ever done and I want to give supporters the best show,” George said.
She said it is a way of celebrating mothers because each mother will leave with more than what she came with.
“These women are mothers. There has never been a show strictly for mothers. It doesn’t have anything to do with nationality. It is not about physique. It is about our overall beauty. They are going to be judge in question and answer then performing talent and lastly best dressed mom which has casual wear and elegant wear,” the organizer said.
Apart from crowning one of the “eight queens” George said a mother who has done something exceptional in the community would be awarded.
“A survey was done by the committee and on Sunday night she will be unveiled,” George disclosed.
The side acts to the show include Geeto and Naz, Melissa McLeish, Tian Winter, Lorraine and Dream Catcher Fashion among others.
The show starts at 7 pm at Simon Boulevard.
The promoter said, “We have some surprises for the audience too and as the show grows annually we hope to make it better each time.”
Tickets obtained prior to the show from super Power Electronics or one of the contestants will cost $30 while purchases at the gate would be at a cost of $35.
People can also make contact with George on 7789-1569 to purchase tickets.
