Dear Editor
Isn’t it great how everyone is getting on the fitness bandwagon? People can be seen everywhere indulging in their various regimens, be it the gym or walking or fitness classes.
The bulk of the activity usually takes place either at dawn or dusk. People can be seen walking along the highways solo or in groups wearing their exercise getups and working up a good sweat.
The activity is most intense around this time of the year because people want to look toned or muscled up when they don their Carnival costumes or sexy outfits.
The flurry of exercise activity usually begins around May and runs until, say the end of July, when everybody’s too busy partying to exercise.
For some, the exercising is put on hold until the following year. Others can’t let it go because they’ve fallen in love with the results their hard work has produced.
The more people there are jumping on the bandwagon the better it is for the health of the nation.
There’ll be less people getting sick, less people suffering from obesity, high blood pressure, etc.
Exercise makes one stronger, look better, lowers stress levels and keeps away illness. All one has to do is put in the right fuel (nutritious food).

that is so true. not only does exercise make you look and feel better, it also gives you a better outlook on life and a positive disposition to deal with all those folks that you come in contact with on a daily basis.

You forgot one more thing…. it makes you look younger.
I agree with your comments. I excercise 3 times a week at the gym; walk in the park the other 2 days; mow my lawn (plus my neighbors), and take my dog for a daily walk. My friends call me the energiser bunny.
We Antiguans should try to stay away from the greasy foods sold by Burger King, and McDonald and start eating more healthy.
The results will surely pay off in the long run.
