The National Festivals Office has jumpstarted the process of seeking participants for the nation’s grand summer festival.
A release from Public Relations Officer Cecelia Thwaites reminds that the deadline for Queen of Carnival registration is Monday.
“Interested applicants should be a citizen of Antigua & Barbuda between the ages 18 to 24 years,” the release said. “Prospective applicants should have completed secondary school and obtained a minimum of three CXC passes.
“Applicants must have never been married nor borne a child and must be of good character within society.”
The communiqué adds that prospects are to submit, along with their completed application forms: proof of citizenship of Antigua & Barbuda; a copy of secondary school leavers certificate along with CXC results; two written character references; three recent photographs (full length, a close-up shot and one in swimwear).
The forms can be obtained from the National Festivals Office, Pigotts Mall on Market and Redcliffe Streets from Mondays to Thursdays, 8 am to 4:30 pm and on Fridays, 8 am to 3 pm.
