ST JOHN’S, Antigua – A lone pugilist, Tuvia Lewis from Uprising Boxing Gym, will be heading to St Martin this weekend to participate in an invitational boxing tournament. He will contest the Light Heavyweight class.

Lewis will be accompanied by the gym’s head coach Anthony Severin and assistant coach John Ryan.

The boxing officials will leave the island on Thursday, April 19 for the Friday night event.

Lewis will be amongst boxers from France, Trinidad and Tobago, Martinique, Guadeloupe, and other Caribbean countries.

Severin told OBSERVER Sports that he expects Tuvia to do well based of his ability; and although he has not competed for a while, he said Tuvia was always in the gym.

While in St Martin, Tuvia and his coaches will be able to see a few exhibition bouts between invited professionals.

On return to Antigua, Tuvia and three other Uprising Gym boxers will again travel to Guadeloupe on May 19 for that country’s invitational.

Severin and Ryan will again accompany them.
