Dear Editor
As I watched the opening of the 2012 London Olympics, I was left with a glorious impression of the great diversity of the peoples of the nations of this little blue marble of a planet.
It was a sight to bring joy to the hearts of all humans who appreciate our glorious differences.
There was a plethora of cultural dress; it was a magnificent feast to the eye and our minds. May we have the wisdom to preserve this diversity for many, many years.
Imagine a different world where all food, culture, customs, languages and dress were the same; it would be a bore beyond belief.
It is this difference and complexity of culture, customs, beliefs and food that makes life such a great experience.
And so it should be. The fact that there are still places that can tickle our curiosity makes life worth living.
