ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Lawmen are calling on relatives or friends of Cortwright “Syrup” Roberts to come forward to identify his body and provide personal identification documents following his recent death at Mount St John’s Medical Centre.

Roberts, who last resided in Villa, was regularly seen on Popeshead Street in the evening. He was involved in an accident on Federation Road, Gray’s Farm, on Saturday July 8, but reportedly refused medical treatment on the scene.

Days later he visited the medical centre complaining of pain about the body. He died shortly afterwards while receiving treatment.

Roberts is believed to be in his late 50s and his last known address is Villa, a source said.

Senior Sergeant William Holder, of the Police Strategic Communications (STRATCOM) department, said an autopsy can not be done without the necessary identification of the deceased.

Anyone with information about the deceased and the accident can contact police at 462-3913/14.
