ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Jockey Jeff Jacobs and Rumour Has It shone brightly in Antigua Turf Club’s Carnival race meet at Cassada Gardens Race Track on Sunday.

Jacobs, regarded as the nation’s top jockey, scalped six wins of the seven races he entered and placed second in the other, while Rumour Has It won the feature race over eight furlongs.

Rumour Has It, running for the first time at The Gardens, did not disappoint the fans and ran to victory in 150.03 seconds over Jack Idle in the feature race of the day over eight furlongs.

It ended up being a two-horse race after Vybz Cartel was scratched, and God’s Grace, which whipped The Chosen One at the last meet over 7.5 furlongs, floored his jockey Clair Wilkins and returned to the stables.

Silver Storm, which is owned by D Lewis, beat the L Purcell-owned Better Moment as well as Seal into second and third places respectively, over a distance of 5.5 furlongs in the E2 & Lower class.

Bling, which is yet to lose in the E1 & Lower class also over 5.5 furlongs, ran 120.00 seconds to beat Missing Files and Moon, respectively.
