St. John’s Antigua- Two newcomers to the Party Monarch finals have promised to bring their A-games to take home the top spots on August 4.

Janine Jarvis and Jason Crump, also known as King Sonic, have both competed in the competition previously for a year and three years respectively. However, this is the first time they have gotten this far and they intend to use the opportunity to cop the crowns.

Jarvis, who will be competing in the groovy segment with Rude Face, said she has wanted to reach this stage for a long time and she is confident that her material will wow the judges and audience at Carnival City.

“I’m just excited; it is something that I have always wanted to do for a very long time, although last year was my first. Last year I got my first opportunity to test the waters but this year I got this far,” Jarvis said.

“So now it is all about preparing for my presentation on the big stage because I am very confident with the song; a lot of people love it and so I am going to put my best foot forward and hope for the best.”

Crump, who was busy practicing his song Tag Team when OBSERVER Media spoke to him, said he was working on perfecting his lyrics and song for the big night.

“I am just here making sure that I have all my lyrics together and that I bring my A-game. I also want to ensure that what I am saying comes out clear and everyone can understand,” Crump said.

Member of the Carnival Development Committee (CDC), Maurice Merchant, said Blade, the Lyrics Man, Janine, Kenne Blessin, King Danski, Laurena, Ricardo Drue, Tian and Young Destroyer will all compete in the groovy segment.

For the jumpy category, CP, the Lyrics Man, Jashan, King Sonic, the Natural Rampler, Ricardo Drue, Shani, Super Mario and Tian will battle it out for the top spot.
