St. John’s Antigua- There were wins for Baba’s Trucking Hawks and Yorks Crushers in the Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association’s (ABBA) Cool & Smooth, Stag and inet First Division league at JSC Sports Complex on Thursday night.
Coy Quinland shot a game-high 30 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and four steals to lead Hawks to an 88-71 victory against inet Ottos.
Point guard Jason London chipped in with 20 points and guard Marlon “Buju” Charles contributed 14 points, seven boards and four steals for the victors.
Sheldon Abrams had 29 points, 21 rebounds, six assists and four steals, while Ade Jarvis sank 14 points and snatched seven boards for Ottos.
Forward Mario Davis produced 18 points, 13 rebounds and five steals to lead Crushers to a lopsided 89-47 victory over Dwight Gardener Yogi Warriors.
Decasta Walbrook scored 16 points and pulled down 16 rebounds, Orlondo Morris converted 12 points and Rodney John had 15 rebounds and six steals for the victors.
Joel Joseph scored 16 points and Ikah Grayman sank 11 points for Yogi Warriors.
The teams in the league competitions are taking a break this weekend to facilitate the staging of the 2012 ABBA All Star celebrations at JSC.
