Dear Editor

On behalf of the CHTAEF-Haiti Project we thank profusely executive sous chef Mark Smith of Curtain Bluff who kindly organised a “Taste of Haiti with an Antiguan Twist” to raise funds for Haitian culinary students who survived the disastrous earthquake and are headed to Antigua to study at ABHTI in September 2012 – funding permitting.

Thanks to Curtain Bluff for a great venue; Horizons Food Brokerage and Island Provisions for complimentary produce; Kennedy’s Club, Baileys and Crab Hole Liquors for donating all liquid refreshments; Photogenesis for excellent photography and Eyefoto for super video clips – all to be uploaded to www.chateducationfoundation.combefore month-end.

Thanks to Arianne Whyte and Shastra for mellow music. Big-Up to students Jodie and Patrina from ABHTI for their excellent service support and enormous respect to the chefs who sparkled with their personalities, flair and intense food flavours – from Haiti, Valery Abraham, MiSol Chevallier & Markens Isidor; from Antigua Hermitage Bay’s Dezi Banhan, Curtain Bluff’s Mark Smith, the 2010 Caribbean Pastry Chef of the Year Maurine Bowers, Galley Bay and the 2011 Caribbean Chef of the Year and Executive Chef at Nonsuch Bay, Mitchell Husbands.

If you missed the event but would like to donate, please leave a message on 562 1206 or emailfoundation@caribbeanhotelandtourism.com.
