KINGSTON, Jamaica, Jun 29, CMC – Gunmen shot and killed three security guards, including two women, after they launched an attack on a security firm in in Negril, Westmoreland, early Friday.

Police have not yet released the names of those killed, but said that the attack on the Guardsman Office appears to have been in search for weapons, usually held on the compound there.

Last year, 1,124 people were shot and killed and last weekend at least 10 people were murdered during gang activities. National Security Minister Peter Bunting said that law enforcement authorities were continuing their efforts to deal with the escalating crime situation.
