CASTRIES, St Lucia, Aug 3, CMC – Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony has accepted the resignation of his parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs, Dr. Ubaldus Raymond.
Raymond, who unsuccessfully contested last November’s general elections, also tendered his resignation as a government Senator.
“The Prime Minster, on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers, wishes Dr. Raymond the very best in his new position and is confident that he will continue to make our country proud,” a brief statement from the Office of the Prime Minister said.
The statement said that Raymond, who holds a doctorate in Development Economics from Howard University in Washington D.C., and was also an assistant professor of Economics at Florida A&M University, resigned his position to take up the post of Chief Economist with the government in Turks and Caicos Islands.
