St. John’s Antigua- Representatives from the Martinique media enjoyed an Antiguan weekend of
work and play from March 31 – April 2, organized by Jolly Beach Resort &
Spa, LIAT and the Ministry of Tourism.
“This press trip is a result of the overwhelming interest shown by French
consumers in Jolly Beach Resort and Antigua & Barbuda at the Salon du
Voyage et des Vacances trade show held in Martinique in March,” says
Andrea Jeremiah, Caribbean Sales Representative for the resort. “The group
experienced the beauty and appeal of Antigua first-hand, and we made sure
they had some time to relax on the beach too.”
During the welcome reception held at Jolly Beach Resort, Neil Forrester,
general manager of the Antigua Hotels and Tourist Association, conducted
interviews in fluent French promoting Antigua and Barbuda as an attractive
vacation destination for the French West Indies. He also discussed culture
and events including Carnival and Sailing Week.
In addition to enjoying the facilities at Jolly Beach Resort, the
journalists representing Journal France-Antilles, Kanal Martinique
Télévision, Rêves d’Evasion magazine and the Antilles Television Channel
enjoyed sightseeing on a Safari Adventure, mingled with the rays at
Stingray City, toured Nelson’s Dockyard and enjoyed jumping up at Shirley
Heights.
