Freetown humiliate Potters in ABBA Division II competition

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Freetown Travelers were in a no nonsense mood on Monday night in the Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 2 matches. Playing at Ottos Sports Complex, Freetown ran circles around Potters Night Ballers, winning 90-23.

Teon Joseph led the way for Travelers with 27 points and 16 rebounds. He was assisted by Shawn Williams who ended with 24 points and Neville Martin who had 16 points and nine boards.

In game two at the same venue, Police Spartans clipped KC Ballers, 61-52. Dwayne Samuel shot 14 points and pulled 16 boards; S Henry contributed 10 points and 19 rebounds, while Robbie Henry tallied 10 points and six rebounds for Spartans.

Quamie Francis shot 21 points and grabbed 19 rebounds for the losers.

Over at JSC Complex, Kenneth A Gomez & Sons United narrowly edged ABBA Future Stars, 65-61, in game 2.

Curtis Daniel had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Kenneth A Gomez & Sons United, along with John Samuel who supported with 11 points and nine rebounds.

On the losing side, Damion Benjamin produced 17 points and eight assists; Zori Nesbit added 14 points, and Steven Matthew shot 10 points and cleaned the glass 13 times for ABBA Future Stars.

In the first game, Baldwin Braves beat Blizzards, 60-49. Cory Millette led with 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and nine steals for Braves. He was helped by Teriq Merrifield who scored 11 points.

Blizzards had contributions from Giga George (19 points), Ari Richardson who had 13 points and 12 rebounds, and John Walsh with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
