FG Ovals make light work of Romgut G Block

St. John’s Antigua- Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) Division 1 and 2 leagues continued on Thursday night at Ottos Court and JSC Complex.

In the first game in Division 2, Ottos FG Ovals beat Romgut G Block, 81-25. Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew shot 25 points and had 15 rebounds; Eric Joseph shot 18 points and had 11 rebounds, while K Cornwall shot 10 points for FG Ovals.

In the other Division 2 match, Leatherbacks edged Maginley Blue Jays, 78-72. Amor Deol shot 31 points and J Matthew added 27 for Leatherbacks. Keady Martin shot 13 points; Sylvester Thomas had 18 points and six rebounds, while Sergio Sylvester shot 13 points for Blue Jays.

Meanwhile in Division 1 action at JSC Sports Complex, Newfield Tapers overcame DC Diamond Stars, 72-61. Lashon Caesar shot 19 points, grabbed 19 boards and collected five steals; Jules Williams shot 17 points, and had five assists and four steals, while Marlon Browne scored 17 points, and had six rebounds for Tapers.

Adisa Harris shot 15 points, and had five steals; Kareem Edwards shot 13 points and had 11 rebounds, while Glen Prosper shot 11 points, had eight rebounds and five steals for the vanquished Stars.

In the Second Division 1 game, Akhimo sank Dwight Gardener Yogi Warriors, 75-49. Keori Lee shot 19 points, had 21 rebounds and eight steals; Nigel Joseph shot 15 points and had six steals, while Earl Lavishere shot 13 points for Akhimo.
