Doctors differ; patients die

Dear Editor

They say doctors differ and patients die. So I am not one bit surprised that that lawyer on Big Issues saw nothing wrong with that musician bastardising the National Anthem.

His explanations were quite convoluted. He claimed to have checked the law and came to the conclusion that there is nothing that says people cannot sing it which ever way they like.

St Paul provides the answer to this problem when he wrote: some things might be lawful, but that does not mean they are expedient.

I, for one, am glad that he saw the error of his ways and decide to change his tune.

In this age young people do not need any encouragement to be disrespectful. They do it on their own. So if love and respect for country is all that is left, can we at least try to preserve it
