Digicel appoints new CEO

St. John’s Antigua- Digicel is today announcing the appointment of Victor Corcoran as CEO of its operations in Antigua & Barbuda.

Corcoran joins Digicel Antigua & Barbuda from Digicel Cayman where he has been CEO since 2008. Victor was previously with Digicel in the Pacific.

As CEO of Digicel Cayman, he drove Digicel’s business by delivering on the company’s commitment to best value, best service and best network.

He rolled out and launched new networks and technologies including a WiMAX 16.e high speed residential broadband network and a 4G HSPA+ high speed mobile broadband network while ensuring Digicel continued to deliver value and service to customers.

One of his key initial tasks in Antigua & Barbuda will be to spearhead the company’s planned 4G network upgrade. Digicel is planning to spend over US $8 million in the coming months on the new network covering all subscribers in the country.

“I am looking forward to continuing to grow the business in Antigua & Barbuda and to cementing our position as a complete communications solutions provider and the number one provider … Along with our commitment to delivering best value, best service and best network to our customers, we are also committed to moving our communities forward in a positive way, and this commitment will be honoured under my watch,“ Corcoran said.
