Dance Hall artiste faces extradition to United States

KINGSTON, Jamaica, May 22, CMC – Dance Hall artiste, Glendale Goshia Gordon, is due to appear in a court here on Thursday after he was arrested soon after his return to the country from the United Kingdom.

Gordon, who uses the stage name “Busy Signal”, was held at the Norman Manley International Airport on an extradition warrant in relation to drug charges in the United States.

Media reports here said that Gordon was returning from a tour in Amsterdam.

The police said he was travelling on a passport issued to one “Reanno Gordon” whose British visa had been cancelled.

The media reports said that the singer had been on the run since 2002 after he was allegedly implicated in a narcotics offence committed in Minnesota.

“Busy Signal” rose to stardom after releasing a string of hits in 2003 and 2004 and climbed the local singles chart with his tune “Step Out”.
