St. John’s Antigua- While Mother’s Day is always one of the biggest days for brunches and specials, Father’s Day usually doesn’t have that much. But this year, a number of restaurants are giving residents choices for treating dads on their day (which is this Sunday, for those who might have forgotten).

For example, Sapodilla Restaurant at City View Hotel is having a Father’s Day brunch on Sunday, where some lucky fathers will receive gifts courtesy of Antigua Home & Garden Discount Centre.  Reservations are recommended; call 562-1211.

Blue Waters also thinks fathers should be saluted, and the resort is offering a Father’s Day Lunch complete with a “Gourmet Extravaganza” Buffet at the Palm Restaurant and live steelband music. The lunch runs from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.

The Bay House Restaurant is using this special day as a way to premiere their new Carvery menu. For Father’s Day they will be adding an extra roast to their normal selection of two. The entrée includes Yorkshire pudding, gravy, roasted potatoes and vegetables. Pianist Vincent Blaize will be on hand to entertain from 12:30 to 3:30 pm.

For those who prefer taking dad out for dinner, Al Porto is hosting a “Give the Gift of Pizza” special, and the Crow’s Nest will have a special dinner menu for dad.
