St. John’s Antigua- Clare Hall Secondary beat Island Academy by 45 runs in the United Insurance, Ministry of Sports Under-15 Cricket Competition played on Tuesday at Clare Hall.
Taking the crease first, Clare Hall were bowled out for 127 runs with Vishal Gobin top-scoring with 43 not out and Deshawn Mark adding 18.
Bowling for Island Academy, N Doumith claimed five scalps for 25 off his five overs and Luke Drepaul took two for 36 off his five overs.
In reply, Island Academy were bowled out for 82 runs. Leon Swann top-scored with 19.
Bowling for Clare Hall, Cornelius Jules picked up three for 20 off 4.3 overs; Lamech McDougal had two for 12 off his five overs, and Trevonte Benjamin three for 12 off his allotted overs.
The competition continues today when St Joseph’s Academy take on All Saints Secondary at Mack Pond in All Saints. The umpires are Bernard Joseph and Garfield Christian.
In another match, Antigua Grammar School will face Pares Secondary at Factory with Ryan John and Isaiah Viville officiating the match.
Clare Hall will host Princess Margaret and umpires Richard Dyer and Julian Daniel will call the game.
In a fourth match, Jennings Secondary will contest Island Academy at Rising Sun. The officials are Steadroy James and Nigel Browne.
Ottos Comprehensive dropped out of the competition after they failed to field a team for the first two rounds of matches. (By Vanroy Burnes)
