Chinese not eating lionfish

Dear Editor

With all the talk about the depletion of the fisheries resource in the waters surrounding Antigua & Barbuda, it was a pleasant surprise to read that an enterprising young man was serving lionfish at a special cookout over the weekend.

I had heard before that they are good to the taste. So I hope his dish lived up to expectations.

From what we hear this fish is a serious predator and the authorities do not have a clue how to get rid of it or to prevent it from eating everything in sight.

Encouraging people to eat this fish seems the only alternative.

This might also be the answer to the disappearance of the parrotfish and other species.

We might just be able also to dress it up to resemble lobsters, as well.

And best of all, I have not heard of the Chinese with their penchant for dragons being interested in eating the lionfish.
