St. John’s Antigua- In the Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association, Cool & Smooth, Stag Beer Division 2 Competition on Wednesday night at JSC Sports Complex, Baldwin Braves and Kenneth A Gomez & Sons United emerged clear winners.
Playing in the first game of the night, Braves beat Rom Gut G-Block, 64-54. Johnson Phillip scored 12 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and seven steals, and teammate Roderick Thomas added 10 points for the Braves.
Rom Gut G-Block’s Dave Barton shot 15 points and had five steals and Rommel Diggs pulled 10 rebounds.
In the second game, United had a fairly easy night against KC Ballers, winning 78-59.
T Skerritt and Richie Francis just missed double-doubles. Skerritt scored 12 points and pulled nine rebounds, and Francis, 18 points and nine boards, while D Telemac’s 14 points and 12 rebounds helped to shore up the winning performance.
K Valentine scored 17 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and five steals, and G Francis shot 12 points and pulled 17 rebounds for Ballers.
At the Ottos Sports Complex, Harold Lovell Rockersville edged Blizzards, 52-47. Alfred Lee produced 16 points for Rockersville, while Giga George added 19 points and Ari Richardson, 11 points, for the losing squad.
Forwarding Ovals also beat Ottos Officials, 74-55. Bryan “Hollywood” Matthew shot a game-high 33 points and pulled 13 boards, while Eric Joseph shot 16 points for Ovals.
Kevin Roberts contributed 27 points for Officials.
