St. John’s Antigua- Police had yet another major drug haul, with the seizure of $120,000 worth in cannabis during an operation in Bendals yesterday morning.

During the random operation executed at about 9 am, lawmen from the Narcotics Squad, K9 Unit and Special Services discovered 2,510 cannabis plants spread across four fields.

The police uprooted the illegal plants and they were taken to Police Headquarters where they were measured and weighed.

The young plants ranged from four to five feet in height and were approximately 60 pounds altogether.

There have been no arrests and police continue their investigations.

At the end of March, police carried out a similar operation in which they seized $1 million worth of marijuana without any arrest. At that time, more than 10,000 mature marijuana plants, eight to 11 feet in height, were uprooted.

Members of the Special Services Unit (SSU), K-9 Unit and Grays Farm Police conducted the joint operation in the Creekside area.
