ST JOHN’S, Antigua – It was not a particularly good weekend for hardball and softball cricket players and aficionados alike as torrents of rain affected all matches.
The Antigua & Barbuda Cricket Association’s matches were abandoned. Those matches included Combined Schools versus Diamonds International Police at Factory; Gunthropes Spring Water Bethesda against Island Fence Jennings at Bethesda; Bolans were to travel to Falmouth to take on leaders PIC Insurance Liberta; All Saints were scheduled to oppose Scotiabank Empire at King George V Grounds, while Medpath New Winthorpes was given a bye.
All games in the Antigua Commercial Bank, Parish League, Curtly Ambrose Competition were also abandoned, and likewise all matches in the Antigua & Barbuda Softball Cricket Association, Caribbean Alliance Insurance Company 30 Overs-a-side Male Competition and the St John’s Cooperative Credit Union 25 Overs Female Competition were also dropped due to the inclement weather.
