The Antigua and Barbuda Drag Racing Association (ABDRA) is mourning the loss of one its pioneers.

Brian Kelsick, no stranger to the car racing circuit, passed away last week from a stroke.

Kelsick was a skilled mechanic and veteran racer who, according to many in the association, always supported and lent a helping hand in any shape or form.

Many racers, fans and administrators paid tribute to Kelsick via social media.

The ABDRA in particular posted yesterday, “No man knows the minute or the hour . . . it has been extremely tough and that’s putting it lightly. You’ve touched many hearts Brian Kelsick. Fighting back tears, from the entire drag racing fraternity here in Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the world, we extend heartfelt condolences to your family and friends. We are forced to say goodbye to a true LEGEND. Some talk it, you lived it, my friend! You’ll NEVER be forgotten. NEVER!”

Kelsick was nominated in 2015 for Mechanic of the Year and was a part of the Munksta Garage Crew.
