Dear Editor
On Friday afternoon I was on the opposite side of a clothing store. To my dismay, I heard a dancehall song that was laced with several expletives.
One after another resonated in the atmosphere as children, tourists and all sorts of people walked up and down the street.
I told my mother to watch three little children I had with me at the time and as I approached, I was bombarded with more vulgar lyrics. The singer then decided to explain in details how to perform sexual intercourse.
As I entered the door, I saw two young women and I told them that they should turn off that vulgar music and I expressed how shocked I was to hear such uncouth lyrics from a business place.
They seemed not be bothered by this old fool. I then went back to my car and called the St John’s Police Station and explained to the officer about my ordeal. The lawman promised to call the clothing store and warn them.
Police need to crackdown on individuals and establishment who believe they can do whatever they want in this tourist-dependent nation.
