A look at ‘sin’

Dear Editor

We can apply this principle to the beginning of time, when there were only two created persons on our planet.

God instructed Adam and Eve, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Gen 2:16-17).

God warned they would die if they sin by ignoring this simple law. If God had not laid down law, they could have eaten the succulent fruit without suffering consequences. Without a law in place, they couldn’t have been guilty of lawlessness. Sin won’t exist unless there’s a law in place to define it.

God’s law was in place then and it still is now. Do we really want to take the chance to say God’s Moral Law was nailed to the cross? Then what would be our example on how to live; to love God and our neighbour?

The Bible makes it clear and simple to understand and there is nothing more important for this generation to grasp. We have to know; thinking we have no law, means we believe we have no sin. We need to know sin; so we may go to God and ask forgiveness from Him. (A quote from the 10 Commandments Twice Removed, By Danny Shelton – Shelley Quinn)

My view: I trust Jesus’ words to lead us to the laws of God; not away from them. We must submit to our heavenly father and creator who made us and is willing to save us.

His blood is our blessing – protection that we receive; everlasting life. His forgiveness makes us free (Heb.10:28). Let us serve Jehovah – Yhwh -Immanuel!
