Is there a conflict of interest with the minister responsible for Carnival, Eleston “Namba” Adams, attempting to enter the Calypso and Party Monarch competitions?
Yes there is. The fact that this is even a question suggests we have some serious ethics problems in this country.
Yes there is and he should know better. The same principle applies as if you work for a company and they are having a contest neither the employee nor family members can participate. Again he should know better and CDC should ban him, they need some B..ls
Namba has got the publicity he wante for the carnival.
The fact is they gave him no money and he had to get the message out there.
He has done well so let us big up the man.
Some people would be crying that they have no money.
This is what you call thinking out of the box.
The CDC should thank him.
Is this a serious question?? The most unethical person would know that this is an outrage!! But then again, didn’t his family member win a raffle that he somehow hosted? Perhaps to him, there’s absolutley nothing wrong here either. SHAME SHAME SHAME

Hehe, I agree with On looker. Carnival 2010 seemed to be in shambles; no money, so sponsors, bachanal at all levels then here comes the Minister with a bombshell that has ingested interest, intrigue etc into the carnival. Of course he cannot win; the man cant sing to save his life but he has scored a goal. He has gotten back carnival on the national agenda and what is wrong with that?
i agree with Zackie and onlooker. You guys really see the bigger picture. I dont necessarily like Nambas ways but i must give credit where credit is due.(Mi granny use to say “gi jack e jacket and gi jill she skirt) For once Namba used his head to get people interested and talking about these shows, which will generate the interest of many to come to the shows, which means carnival will make some revenue this year. Namba definitely score one on my grade sheet. What he can now do is to pull out of the competition the day before and appear as a guest artist on both nights.
Good Job Namba…….Na badda wid dem, yuh not useless.
I think Mr. Minister participating in this years competition is a big conflict of interest…take a minute and reflect here people, it might be a tacticle move yes, but, the end result is what will remain in the minds of the people should the judgement go a certain way…food for thought.
